With over twenty years experience in the field of social work, my areas of interest are working with men and women to build resilience, recover from past trauma, sex/love addictions, intimacy disorders, depression and anxiety, and the affects of post-abortion stress. My approach to assessment and psychotherapy is guided by the integration of psychodynamic, attachment focused, cognitive behavioral, and incorporates evidenced-based research on the mind-body connection. I am also trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT),  and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR), both empirically validated treatments for recovery from traumatic experiences.  Currently, I am receiving training through the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals, and am a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist Candidate (CSAT-C).  As with any therapist who holds to ethical standards of practice, I provide therapy in a non-judgmental atmosphere and I am LGBTQIA-friendly. You will find that my office is a safe space for sharing your concerns!

If you would like to speak with me about arranging for an appointment, please call me at 616-414-1589 or email me with questions at suellmsw@gmail.com.   I look forward to hearing from you!
